Pianiste - Conductor
Chrysanthie Emmanouilidou was born in Thessaloniki. The most important impulse for a passionate study of the opera has been her work next to Michael Boder especially during her assistance with Wozzeck , Salome and Moses and Aron. Immediately after her musical piano and theory studies in the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki she continued her solo piano studies at the academies of music in Freiburg (with Prof. Tibor Hazay) and in Berlin “Hanns Eisler” where she spent profoundly inspiring years next to Prof. Georg Sava.
Shortly after her piano degrees C.E. has met the conductor Andrea Pestalozza who became her conducting teacher and to whom she credits much of her contemporary music experience. Prior to embarking on an interpretation of complex scores C.E. spent a considerable amount of time as a trainee of the Berliner Philharmoniker as well as a guest student of Claudio Abbado.
During her education she attended numerous piano and conducting Master Classes (Jenaer Philharmoniker, Kaposvar Symphony Orchestra) in Germany, France and Austria.
C.E. has performed as conductor (among others with her own Chamber Orchestra Internationales-Ensemble-Berlin, Darmstadt-Kammersymphonie-orchestra, Brandenburgisches Staatsorcheter), as a soloist, as a member of various chamber music ensembles (Spiegel Klavierquartett-Swiss, Pelion Ensemble-Germany) as well as “Lied” accompanist in Europe and Japan.>
